Brussels Zaventem airport and metro explosions 'kill at least 13'

At least 13 people were killed and 35 others were injured when two blasts hit Zaventem airport in Brussels Tuesday, Belgian public broadcaster VRT reported.

The two blasts occurred at around 8 a.m. local time.

Hours later, a separate blast hit Maelbeek metro station, located close to EU institutions in Brussels.

Terror threat level in Brussels has been raised to the highest, local media reported.

The explosions come four days after a counter-terrorism raid in Brussels led to the capture of Paris attacks suspect Saleh Abdeslam Friday.
